• Writ Petition No. 12964/2024- Import of illegal Pesticides from unregistered source into Bangladesh

to prevent the illegal and arbitrary inaction of the Respondents in protecting the agricultural environment of Bangladesh, the farmers, agriculture based people to save their crops from harmful pesticides which are illegally bringing in Bangladesh by some miscreants and has a high risk of destroying the entire agriculture environment in Bangladesh.

a great majority of citizens of Bangladesh rely on agriculture for food security. Improper pesticide use can lead to residues exceeding safe limits on food crops, posing health risks to consumers. In addition, unregulated pesticide use can harm beneficial insects, pollute water sources, and contaminate soil, jeopardizing biodiversity and ecosystem health. Stringent registration enables evaluation of potential environmental impacts as well as risks to human health before allowing pesticides into the market for consumers and responsible pesticide use also safeguards public health and the environment 

• Writ Petition No. 5348/2025- illegal Excavation of Clay from the Agricultural land/digging Pond/Dighi unlawfully

Following various reports published in mainstream newspaper, The Legal Era Foundation filed and moved the above Writ Petition challenging the Inaction/Failure of the concerned Government authority to take appropriate legal action to stop unlawful excavation of clay from the agricultural land in order to dig Pond/Dighi in various location of Bagmana Upazila, Rajshahi.

Such illegal excavation of clay from the fertile agricultural land not only destroying the fertile clay/top level fertile clay of the agricultural land, environment, ecology and biodiversity, but also damaging/ collapsing/ deviating surrounding lands owned by other general people seriously affecting their fundamental rights. It is also alleged that the miscreants by showing mussle power also excavating clay from the surrounding lands which they do not own at all.
